Assertiveness Skills – Being More Assertive

There is a belief that no-one will volunteer for a training workshop on being more assertive, yet so many issues relating to communication, poor time management and stress can be traced back to the route cause of a lack of assertive behaviour, or being over assertive. We work with managers and staff to develop these skills and there are very few programmes that will have such a dramatic and instant effect on employees.

Being able to select in a conscious and informed manner, the most appropriate style of response in interpersonal communication is an essential part on the route to developing assertive behaviour. Our Workshops will develop the skills to create a trust and build rapport in interactions, giving the confidence to effectively handle conflict, criticism and other challenging situations and deal with both aggressive, or submissive behaviour.

Assertiveness Training Workshops

We run two types of assertiveness workshops, one for those who manage staff “Assertiveness Skills for Managers” and one for those who do not “Assertiveness Skills for non Managers” . Much of the content will be similar, however there is more of a focus on coaching and developing staff on our management workshop, and on how to reduce stress levels, through assertive behaviour on the other. We also run a workshop for customer facing staff who need to handle difficult clients or customers.

Number of Attendees

We tend to work with a maximum of 12 attendees per Facilitator/Trainer, although this is flexible depending on the workshop. Some workshops with diagnostic tools allow us to have around 16 to 20 attendees.

Course Duration

Most of our workshops are 1 day courses, although they each vary depending on the degree of customisation. Workshops typically run from 09:15 to 16:45 which will include lunch and breaks.

Locations

We deliver our Workshops at your premises in the UK, throughout Europe and around the World in a number of languages as well as English. We just need access to a venue, which includes a projector and flip charts.

Our courses are designed to be enjoyable, interactive, experiential and stimulating to maximize on the learning opportunity. This means that everyone has a chance to contribute and get involved throughout.

Workshop Prices

Our prices are based on a day rate per facilitator plus expenses, which ordinarily works out more cost effective than sending your team externally on courses which will also incur individual expenses.

This workshop is designed for those who need to develop their communication skills and covers a comprehensive agenda, with a wide range of practical exercises to help you communicate more effectively.
